Though originally from Hong Kong, Dr. Hoe grew up in Daly City and attended elementary, junior high school, and high school here.  She attended U.C. Berkeley for her undergraduate studies and then it was off to the bright lights of New York City for her optometric schooling at the State University of New York, College of Optometry.

After an additional year practicing in New York City, she headed back to Daly City to be closer to her family and to escape New York’s cold winters.  Dr. Hoe is a member of the San Mateo County Optometric Society, the California Optometric Society, and the American Optometric Society.  She is fluent in Burmese and can speak some Cantonese and Spanish.  Some of her interests include dining out and traveling, of which Cambodia counts as the most exotic locale she has visited.
